Okay, so, I got my financial aid award notice recently, and I am the shit, forreal. I got a scholarship for $1,900 ($950/semester), as well as a grant from the state of VA for $3,329! So first semester, I get $3,329 and second semester $3,330 for free! My tuition is only $3,482/semester so this is amazing! I am so happy. This just goes to show, fuck FAFSA--write in a sob story for scholarship applications and you'll get the money you deserve.

Anyway, I started a new job at Michaels. I'm a "sales associate" who backs up on register. It gives me ridiculous anxiety, but I like the people there. I just hate not knowing what I'm doing. I don't know how it works. I have never worked retail before and it's more work than I'm used to. I have to work 8 hours today and I don't know how I'm going to get through it, with my sanity.

I get to move into my apartment on August 20th, nice!

Last week was amazing. I spent Tues-Sat morning in Frederick with my love. July 4th wasn't bad. It rained so we only got to hang out in Baker Park for a couple hours. I wish it was nicer though, and that more people had come out. It's a really nice atmosphere. They have a few stages for bands (though pretty much all of them suck lol but hey, it's cool), food, and different stuff. The park is huge so it's just really nice. You all have no clue what the heck I'm talking about--check out some pics here. :) These kind of show the more "hick"-ish stuff that goes on, but I love it haha.

Not sure what all has changed since the last time I posted. i cut my hair off. It's cute and short and I love it. Even though I'm too lazy to style it most of the time haha. The cafe isn't opening until later in July now so I guess they just don't want me anymore--they have called my sister a few times but not me once. I have an interview at Michael's tomorrow. I really don't want the job. At all. So hopefully they just won't want me. Hmph.

I need to start working on this site more, but I don't know what to add. Any suggestions on what you'd like to see--visitor, about me, anything. I'm open to any suggestions. I'm stuck :\

Not a whole lot to tell. I haven't been doing much lately. I don't work during the week so I sit home, watch tv, read, play the Sims 2, etc. It isn't that excited haha.

I got kicked out of Despair. Whatever. No one commented me anyway, and since the emails stopped coming to me, I forgot to check the site. Sooooo, whatever. Pointless being a member anyway.

I've updated a few pages on the site. Mostly in About Me. I added more books and movies. I don't remember what else, but I didn't add any new pages.

I have a job interview on Friday for a cafe opening on July 14th or so. Hopefully they will hire me... but my hopes aren't too high considering I leave in August to go to school.

My car is getting fixed. It's $3500, including the engine, radiator, and labor. It will cost a little more depending on what caused all the problems in the first place. My mom took out another 5 year $5000 loan on the car, so I owe her that plus the $1400 from the previous loan. Damn.

I had a job interview today, but it was totally pointless. I went in and she asked me if it would be temporary, so I said yes, for the summer. She asked when I was going back and I said sometime in August, not sure the exact date. She wanted to know so I estimated mid-August. Bad idea. She told me she needed me until the end of August so it wouldn't be worth it to her. So that was that. Ugh!

Whatever. My mom, sister, grandpa, and I went to play mini golf today. I came in 2nd to last haha. I'm not that good. But it was fun. Then we had lunch at Olive Garden. Yum!

Besides that, nothing much is new. I have to go back to the doctor because something was off with my blood tests I know they tested for cholesterol levels as well as anemia. So... one of those is apparently not right. Sucks, but whatever.

Sunday is Nathaniel and my 1 year anniversary. Yay! We're going to King's Dominion with a bunch of friends. It's going to be fantastic.

Good/bad couple of days. Sunday I went to Sheetz to get some food and an iced latte (vanilla caramel low-sugar iced latte from Sheetz = heaven. really, try it) before work. The heat index was over 100 so I was blasting my AC. It was working fine and then all of a sudden it stopped blowing cold air and it was kind of warm. I didn't think much of it and just opened the windows instead.

Anyway, I worked for a while and then headed home to get ready. I set out for my drive to MD for some awesome birthday activities with the boyfriend. We were going to see The Strangers Sunday night, hang out with Jackie and Shawn, then go to Cunningham Falls State Park Monday around noon to hike to the falls, play in the sand, and possibly swim in the lake. This, however, never happened. Well, the getting to MD part and seeing the Strangers did happen, but we'll get to that later.

So I was driving my normal route, but was not feeling okay. It was hot as crap in my car because my AC refused to work. I had to drive with the windows down and then try to blast my music so I could hear it. All this made me feel really anxious. I didn't feel right. But I drove on.

After I got sick of all the heat, I texted my mom telling her the AC might be broken so she said she would call Kris (the guy who fixes our cars). She then calls me and asks me random questions. Then my car starts to lose it's acceleration. I had to put the gas petal practically to the floor to get it up to the speed limit. My mom then realized something and asked me quickly "Is the car overheating?!!?" and I looked and it was. I freaked out and pulled over and shut off my car.

I sat there asking my mom what I was supposed to do. I was getting panicky at this point. She told me to turn it off, pop my hood, and let it cool down. See if it is cooled off in like 20 minutes. Well, see, the heat index was over 100 and my car was on black asphalt here. It wasn't gonna cool down that fast. So I got off the phone and sat there, roasting. And I was roasting. It was that hot that sweat just rolls off you (just trying to let you picture how miserable it was out there). Not to mention the fact that I'm crying and panicking and basically freaking the fuck out. It didn't help I had no water and my cell phone only had 1 bar left.

Anyway, to cut this short. A cop pulled over behind me and called one of the highway safety people. He brought water to try to cool it off. My mom and Robert came shortly thereafter. My car wouldn't start so we had to get it towed, and I won't know the extent of the damage until later today. I know my radiator is shot. That is a fact because it has a crack in it. The only question is whether I fucked up my engine or not because I don't know how long my car was overheating before I noticed it.

As for Nathaniel's bday... I got him a band tshirt, a Warped ticket, and made him cookies :) We ended up stranded in the park for 2 hours in the heat because we had no transportation. Eventually his friend Nathaniel picked us up and we saw The Strangers. Not that great to be honest. We went to Outback for his bday and then chilled at Jackie's for a bit. I didn't get home until after 12:30am. Woops.
